This miniature-length vest packs a huge visual punch for such a tiny garment!  Use this vestlet to nip in a billowy poet shirt or peasant blouse, emphasize a corseted waistline, or accessorize the perfect steampunk outfit.  It’s an affordable way to add complexity or a focal point when your outfit needs just a little extra spice.

The leather straps and buckles are edgy and fun, but if you prefer a softer and more romantic look, you can choose ribbon ties instead.  Imagine a pin-striped Amelia with black leather straps and a steel buckle for Steampunk, or forest green with brown leather for an elf outfit, or red tied with black ribbons over a romantic white gathered blouse.

If you want ribbon ties as your front closure, please note it during the ordering process, or we’ll default to the buckles!

SPECIAL NOTE: You can create the effect of a full- on strapped corset or corset-vest by pairing a corset with a matching Amelia vestlet.  If you’re interested in trying this, please  contact us for a quote, as many of the fabrics used for corsets (especially silk brocades ) have higher price points than the regular vest materials.

Description

NOTE: Some seams, darts, back yokes, or other fitting-related details which are shown in the photos will change between sizes or body shapes, and may look different or be completely absent in your version (depending on your particular size or shape).  Design details that don’t affect fit, such as collars or pockets, will stay the same between sizes.

Some materials may benefit from being made with a solid-colour (often black) back in a suiting with some give, both for comfort and appearance, depending on your preference.  If this is the case for your fabric choice/s, we’ll suggest it when you email us.

Sizing

Because the neckline is very open, the fit on Amelia vestlets is pretty forgiving. However, if your chest is much larger than average in proportion to your waist and rib cage, please make a note of it during your order so we can tweak the fit for you.

We make Amelia vestlets to be fairly fitted, with about 1-2 inches of wearing ease (or even less in a material with stretch).  Depending on how fitted you like your clothes and what you intend to wear underneath, you may want yours to fit tighter or looser.  If this is the case, please make a note of it when you order.

The buckle straps have three holes, so you can adjust the fit by an inch or two.  If you opt for the ribbon ties, you can choose to have the front edges as open as you like.
